Starship: Gold

August 2024 - October 2024

Starship: Gold is a simple 2D top-down space-shooter game I made over the course of 8 weeks for a class at SMU Guildhall. It is coded in my custom C++ game engine Adagio, making use of DirectX11 and the FMOD Core API. It is the first project made I've made in this engine. Beyond the requirements of the class, I implemented several additional features; a dash move, a basic menu system, as well as new “Grudge Mode” where players try and push each other into the walls. This mode supports 2-player multiplayer or 1 player vs. an AI ship. I also wrote and implemented original music for this project. (You can hear it in the video on the left.)
